Update: Pennsylvania Senate passes Pa. House Bill 1828. Layoffs and shutdowns in Philadelphia averted!

Philadelphia is shutting down almost all library branches, courses, and programs due to budget cuts. The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped will remain open. The Free Library of Philadelphia was established in 1891.
